Cookie Policy

Last updated 2026-08-20

This site uses very few cookies, and none for advertising unless you say yes. Here is the whole list.

Your current choice

You can change or withdraw your consent whenever you like:

Strictly necessary

These make the site work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you.

Analytics — cookieless

We use a self-hosted Umami instance to count page views and interactions. It sets no cookies, stores no identifiers on your device, and does not follow you across sites. Because it cannot identify you, it runs without consent — but you can still switch it off using the cookie settings above.

Advertising and measurement — consent required

These load only after you accept. Until then the tags are held in a denied state and set nothing.

Keeping a record

Each time you accept, reject or withdraw, we also store that decision on our own server, with a random id, the page you were on, your browser, language and time zone, and which version of this policy you saw. We keep it because the law puts the burden of proof on us: if you ever say you never agreed to advertising cookies, we have to be able to show what actually happened. Your browser's copy alone would not prove anything, since you can clear it.

The record is append-only — withdrawing adds a row, it does not erase the earlier one. Your IP address is not stored; at most a salted hash of it is, and only where that is switched on. The random id is used for nothing else and never follows you to another site.

How we ask

On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or reject. Rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting — we do not hide it, pre-tick it, or make you hunt through a settings panel. Your choice is stored for 12 months, and until you choose, nothing that requires consent runs.

Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not break this site.

A good-faith draft describing the site's actual behaviour. Not legal advice — have counsel confirm it meets your obligations in each market you advertise in.
